Hog Hunt - Nov 27-29, 2009
Event description:
The Methodist Church's McKaskle Retreat Center had several groups of wild hogs which are
very destructive to fields and plant life.
Crew 55 volunteered to help reduce the number of these wild hogs.
Four youth members participated in the hunt.
Five adults also participated, several of whom are NRA instructors.
The hunting was done near sunset and sunrise, and mostly from tree stands.
The group failed to kill any hogs, and part of the reason was that the trails were overgrown
and targets were hard to see.
The group spent most of Saturday clearing trails, and the retreat center was very thankful
for the service project.
